Wayne MacDonald is now happily retired, but takes on the occasional international assignment through his firm Infinity Consulting and Legal Services. He is the former Director of Corporate Performance and Evaluation with the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. Wayne’s career has largely centered on international humanitarian assistance work. He has held various managerial positions with CIDA, the Geneva-based International Committee of the Red Cross, and UNICEF where he led the evaluation of their Emergency response to the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami Disaster. In 2010, Wayne co-edited a special issue of New Directions for Evaluation on “Enhancing Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Response and Recovery through Evaluation”. He holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from Carleton University, and Certificate in Evaluation Practice from The Evaluators’ Institute.
