Daniel Sansfaçon PhD, is a sociologist and criminologist. He joined Status of Women Canada in April 2014, as its Director General for Policy and External Relations. He was previously Director of Policy, Research and Evaluation in Public Safety Canada’s National Crime Prevention Centre, from 2006 to 2014. Daniel has also worked for 10 years at the International Centre for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC) where he was Deputy Director General since 2004. He began his career as researcher and chief of criminal law research for the government of Canada (Departments of the Solicitor General and Justice), before joining the University of Quebec in Montreal where he taught research methods from 1988 until 1994.Throughout his career, Daniel has managed complex policy files and multidisciplinary teams or policy and research analysts, supervised complex research programs, delivered numerous presentations nationally and internationally, including in UN organizations, and published articles in scientific journals.
